Introducing MARLEY...

I looked up the local humane society on Saturday morning and was SURE it was Striper...turns out it was Marley, and don't ask how or why, but he ended up coming home with us. We already love him to pieces!

P.S. It was extremely painful for Buddy to take part in this photo!

Buddy Boy

Oh, Buddy...that's all I can say. He will be 7 in April and he is FINALLY starting to chill out a bit. He still takes off daily, but always comes back after about 20 minutes. He still hates to be touched when relaxing, and goes psycho at the sound of "walk", "ride" and "bird". He still attempts to hump me daily while I'm doing my morning stretches. He is still not to be trusted on a walk...he seems to feel the need to protect me while leashed and has proven the ability of ripping my arm out of the socket or pulling me backwards down a hill. He is definitely a creature of "schedule" and cannot veer from it in any way. I will never forget the time he saw a squirrel out Lucy's bedroom window, bolted for the door, but got the blind string caught around his neck. In a matter of seconds, the blinds were torn off the wall and the door was practically off the hinges. He totally reminds me of Marley...

But...I love how he will come up to me and sit, and put his paws on my shoulders to give me a hug, just like Zoe used to do!

My new toy...

I got a Flip video camera for my birthday and we're having fun playing around with it! Sorry, head-tilting may be required...

Worn out!

My dear, sweet Lucy...
We have had such a fun week! I always feel like I rediscover you during these breaks. It feels so good to let you wake up on your own time and snuggle with you in the morning; to not have a schedule and to just be able to do whatever we feel like doing. You are such a good, little girl. You are so happy, inquisitive, intelligent, joyful, SUPER funny, loving and carefree. You love mama so much and I feel so lucky that you are mine. Just a couple more months to push through until we can enjoy this last summer before you start the next chapter in your life...SCHOOL!

My last day of 34...

Lucy and I went to the District 196 ice show tonight. It was Disney themed and each senior solo was a different princess. My friend Ann, the director, lost her father earlier this week and our hearts go out to her! The coaches pulled together a really great show. This pic of "Ariel" is one of my skaters, Shannon, who I have coached for the past 5 years. She skated great! She was in a lot of numbers, and every time Lucy saw her, she called her the "mermaid girl".

A Taste of Spring

The weather has been so nice! Lucy and her best friend Kaitlyn got their bikes out finally and enjoyed the fresh air.

Open Skating

Lucy will go around the rink about 2 or 3 times, then we take her skates off, get her a pretzel with cheese, and she sits at the top of the bleachers while I skate for a while. Love that girl!

Little Skater?

Lucy came with me to the competition on Sunday and we left with her first skating dress. She hasn't taken the scrunchy and bow out of her hair since. I hope she likes to skate as much as I do some day!
