Lucy and I went to an open house at a local stable today. She rode Oscar!

A New School

We switched Lucy to a full-time preschool. It was hard saying goodbye to Mary, but the choice has been a good one. We went to the school's carnival tonight and Lucy had a great time!

Fried Worms Anyone?

It cracks me up how one of our animals pretty much always ends up in the picture. :)

Look how long that ponytail was!!!

Olivia

Have you ever read the Olivia books? This picure reminds me of her "moving the cat". Striper lets Lucy do whatever she wants to him. He's such a lover!

Scissors!

Lucy got my scissors and chopped about 5 inches. We bobbed it for Todd and Jessica's wedding last September, and after a year of growing it, we're back to where we started. It's a great preschool cut, right? It could have been much worse!

What a GOOD Friday...

Finally, it was a day that felt good. We went to Open Gym, McDonald's with Grandma and Grandpa, walked Buddy, played with our new doctor set in the sunshine, and set up a "lunch party" on the deck. And we even had shorts on! And to top it off, I finally used my year-old birthday gift of a one-hour massage.

On a mission...

Lucy and I walked the path today and picked up a ton of trash. Our bag got so full, we had to head home. We'll pick up where we left off tomorrow.

What's been happening...

We all went to Buca a couple weeks ago thanks to Scott's Christmas gift. Thank you, Scott! Lucy surprised us by loving the calamari. Look closely at the green "man" in the background. Lucy was very intrigued and it took a little explaining why he was naked in the restaurant. :)

Last Sunday Grandma and Grandpa, Todd and Jessica, and our family went to the 5-8Club to celebrate Todd's birthday. This was part of the conversation between Lucy and I on the way home:
L: Mommy, look, there is only one star up there.
M: You're right. Why don't you make a wish on that star since you saw it first.
L: I wish on Zoe.
M: HEART SWELLING...

Grandma Barb spent the night last Wednesday and took Lucy to Disney on Ice. They had a great time!

I am sooooo happy that it's Friday and my report cards have all been sent home. Last week, I was at Parade for a competition and our girls took 3rd for team points out of around 15 teams...very proud of them considering the number of skaters we had in the competition. Don't mess with Eagan!

Lucy learned how to use the computer about 3 weeks ago and she LOVES it. It's amazing how she can go from turning the computer on, all the way to her favorite sites: Starfall and Sesame Street. It took me longer to work this darn mouse than it did her! She calls it "Doing her computer stuff".

I know I take on too much and I'm so ready for a break...I submitted my final yearbook pages and the School Store wrapped up. The Student Council kids and I made over $600 for Oak Ridge! We also had our third grade concert last Thursday night. My kids did great! One more week until Spring Break! Hopefully, we'll be relaxing on a beach somewhere...

Ahhh....

Ok...maybe getting up with Mommy at 5:30 was not such a good idea.

Animal House

A lot of love to go around, but it's just not the same without our Zoe.

So...

We decided to keep one. His name is Striper and he's a BIG boy. The vet said our 9 week old is the size of a 14 week old. Lucy called him Striped Tail from the beginning, and it eventually morphed into Striper. He's a lover and he even hopped in the bath for a short time with Lucy tonight. I love how he lets Lucy snuggle him in the morning as she comes to life.
