I am NOT a slacker!

Oh my gosh...I actually had to think about my username, it's been so long. We still have not replaced our digital camera and it takes a while to fill up disposables. It's amazing how much more reserved you are with snapping pictures with one of those. I have been back at school this week. I met 17 of my 28 kids at Open House on Wednesday. Yes, I did say 28! That's my highest ever. I am so excited to start I can hardly stand it. It gets so much easier every year. I can say I am as ready as I could be to have those little monkeys walk in on Tuesday morning. But I'm really missing my routine of skating every morning. I can literally feel the muscles getting looser...scary! Last night our family went to the State Fair and ate about 5,000 calories in a matter of 2 hours. It was great. I highly recommend the Miracle of Birth Barn if you haven't been. It was so amazing! We were able to pet a calf that was less than a day old. We didn't get to see anything "live" but the recorded stuff made our jaws drop. We are just about to head out the door for our final cabin trip of the summer. Tomorrow is September, right? Whew...pretty soon we'll be trick or treating!

Two peas in a pod...

Wow! Two toddlers take a lot of energy. Lucy and Janey spent the weekend together at the cabin. They kept busy moving from one activity to the next, as I followed behind trying to keep the place somewhat organized. Moments later it would look like a disaster again. Just letting it go and cleaning up once at the end could save your sanity!

I did it!!!

This morning I landed a double loop! I have been wanting to do that ever since I can remember. I have always told myself that once I landed that jump I would feel "done," but now I have the urge to overcome the double flip as well!! I'm sure many of you are thinking "What is she talking about?"...It's a major skating accomplishment for me!

If only we could bottle them...

Take a look at my little pipsqueak from last summer. It's amazing how much she has grown and what a sweet little girl she has become (aside from the random fits and the new one when she's mad..."I don't wuv YOU!".

A little sand, anyone?

Note to self...never put the sandbox on an upstairs deck again.

Anything is fun to a 2 1/2 year old!

Lucy can keep herself busy for quite a while "washing dishes" in the kitchen sink. Do you think she'll still be willing when she's a teenager? Yikes...did I just say she'll be a teenager someday!!?

A little peace and quiet at the lake!

This was the first time Lucy had actually swam in her lifejacket. She discovered a new found freedom in the water. Going under the dock("tunnel")was quite exciting! The dogs are in heaven at the cabin. They pace back and forth for hours in the hopes of possibly catching one of those sunnies.

Yes, I do my own stunts!

I was pretty proud of myself after learning how to do a 180 behind the boat on the wakeboard. I planned to try my best jump heading towards the dock and my husband, but of course, I got caught up and totally wiped out.

Take me out to the ballgame!

Lucy helped us cheer on the Twins in July. When the initial awe of the Metrodome wore off, she focused her attention towards Uncle Todd, Jessica, Grandpa and Grandma in the row below us. We never made it on the screen, but you can't say I didn't try! Those darn sideways pics...I can never get them to go upright!
