My Silly Girl

Oh, my sweet Lucy! I love who you are! I love walking around the house and finding your dolls in bags, baskets, under blankets...all set up just the way you want them. I love how you stand in front of the mirror, making funny faces and jamming out to the music with no cares in the world. I love when you tell me that you love me. I love how you take all your clothes off and pull the shower curtain back, telling me you want to take a shower too. I love how you curl up into the tiniest ball on my lap. I love when you tell me you'll kiss it for me when I say something hurts. I love how you tell Daddy and me that you "love us so much yummy"...inside family joke! I love when you tell me "that's a great spot" when we're parking the car. I love how you ask me if I'm going ice skating every time I put my shoes on...sorry I'm gone so much! There are so many things that make you "Lucy" and Mama will always love you all the way to the moon and back!!!

Another Try...

Lucy and I went skating on Thursday and we pretty much had the ice to ourselves. She likes mommy to grab her under the arms so she can "run" on the ice...or eating the snow I make for her. That's about it!

Santa

Santa surprised the kids at Grandma Barb's. He knew something about each child and had a special toy for each of them. He brought Lucy the pink Barbie she had been asking for.

A Treat for Santa

We didn't have any cookies so we left Santa a Little Debbie cake...Lucy's favorite snack, referred to as "white things" around here. Christmas was extra special through her eyes this year.

Newly Engaged!

Mark's younger brother, Todd, and "Auntie Jessica" as we already call her are getting married in October. They have asked Lucy to be their flower girl. How special for her!

Duck calling in your underwear with GRANDPA...what could be more fun?

OK, so I'm going a little crazy tonight! We borrowed Granpa's disk and there are so many cute pictures to get on here. My main intent with this blog is to journal for Lucy...so if you get bored, I'm sorry! :)

Grandma's Girl

Lucy definitey got those brown eyes from "Grandma Nay"(Renee).

Mark's Sidekick

Buddy was smarter than the roosters this time!

Ho! Ho! Ho!...

...no I won't look at you Santa! We stopped by the community center for a visit, but Lucy changed her mind once we got close. She wasn't the only one. It was pretty funny watching all the parents trying to coax their children onto his lap. There was a lot of screaming going on. We stopped for a picture with Snoopy on the way out.

Hurry, Mommy!

I was trying to get a cute Christmas photo while it was snowing the other night. It was freezing!! Lucy tried really hard for mom to get a good shot. After all that, we ended up going with an autumn shot! I hope to get them in the mail this weekend.

Tis' the season...

...to love your dogs! Doesn't Buddy look massive in this picture?!! It's hard to see, but Lucy is actually sitting on Zoe. Oh, what they go through around here!

Happy Holidays!

We decorated our tree tonight. Lucy helped me decorate the house last night while Mark went out to get the tree. It's so magical with her!

Lots of treats!

I felt like a kid again, being around her excitement. She wasn't shy at all, saying "trick or treat" and "thank you" to everyone. At one point we had to empty her pumpkin because it was too heavy for her. She probably would have gone another hour!

Halloween

Lucy took her ladybug costume with her for the party, but I couldn't resist dressing her up for the day as well!

Mrs. Stangenes...what happened to you?

I hope I don't scare my kids too much! We have a parade through our school and it's going to be so fun because they won't know who I am!

The excitement is building!

Lucy will be having a "party" at daycare tomorrow. Mary and her neighbor Cindy, who also does daycare, get all the kids together with costumes and treats. We carved our pumpkins tonight. Lucy did not want to participate in the scooping out of all the yucky stuff. She said something cute tonight for the first time. I was looking for a pair of kitty ears for one of my students to wear tomorrow. Lucy said, "I'll look for them...don't worry." We'll definitely post some ladybug pics tomorrow night! Safe trick-or-treating to all!!!

Olive You!

Olives at dinner, olives on the way to daycare! She puts them on her fingers and counts them as she eats them.

Cousins

We were very excited to have Janey stay with us for a couple days last week. Janey came with a shirt that Lucy had so I dressed them alike. They were not very thrilled with our ice skating adventure, but eating the "snow" was fun. Even though they only lasted about 15 minutes(and it took longer than that to get them ready) it was worth it. They were so cute!

Autumn Fun!

Lucy is enjoying fall and playing in the leaves. Another week and we'll be able to make a huge pile to jump in! She thinks the house around the corner with all the Halloween stuff is pretty cool.

Listen to this one!

Lucy is good about using her please and thank you's and she's starting to pick up on "excuse me" as well. But, the other night while we were shopping at Kohl's she really embarrassed me. In a fairly loud voice she announced, "I ate a boogie." I tried not to laugh. Where do you even go with that one?

"Bumble Bee"

Lucy still fits in this thing and she calls it her bumble bee. Out of all the baby stuff we went through, this was my favorite invention! Mark, Lucy and I went to the zoo today. Minnesota has the wildest weather. It felt like summer on the first day of fall.

Little Dancer

The Bouncy song is already stuck in my head. She did a good job for her first time. She was shy, but not as bad as I thought she would be. She followed directions pretty good. Although, I was out there with her the whole time. She enjoyed the instruments they got to play. I pictured all these little kids in black leotards and white tights, but they came in with everything on...purple, yellow, costumes, dresses. It was cute.
